Voters on Aug. 7 will be asked to make choices for a variety of elected offices.The August primaries are when nominees from each political party are selected to compete in the general election in November.However, a significant number of local races are nearly decided already because only one person filed for office. Barring unforeseen circumstances, these unopposed candidates will almost certainly be named the winners of their elections come Aug. 8.Ten offices for Warren County government leadership positions are on the ballot this year. Only three are contested — presiding county commissioner, presiding circuit court judge, and recorder of deeds.Below are the candidates running unopposed for county government seats:Richard L. Scheibe is unopposed to retain his seat as associate circuit judge, Division 2.Michael S. Wright is unopposed to keep his position as associate circuit judge, Division 3.Denise Stotler is the sole candidate to replace retiring County Clerk Barb Daly.Timothy C. Beard is the only name on the ballot to fill the position of retiring Circuit Court Clerk Brenda Eggering.County Treasurer Jeff Hoelscher is running unopposed to continue in his position.Prosecuting Attorney Kelly King does not have an opponent in her bid for re-election.Collector of Revenue Julie Schaumberg is unopposed for re-election.Election filing
