The public is invited to the open house and ribbon cutting from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 25, at Warren County Ambulance District’s new Base 4 on Bell Road in Wright City.The ribbon cutting will take place at 5:45 p.m. sharp.Blood pressure checks and hands-only CPR training will be offered.Guests can tour the facility, which houses one Advanced Life Support crew 24/7 and has room to grow if call volumes increase.The district averages about 4,200 calls per year.This is the district’s fourth base. There are two bases in Warrenton, Base 3 at 26091 S. Highway 47, and Base 1 at 604 Fairgrounds Road.Base 1 also is home to the Warren County Ambulance District’s administrative offices.This is the second base in Wright City. Base 2 is on Second Street, where it is cut off from traveling north when a train comes through town.Construction of Base 4, on the opposite side of the railroads tracks and Interstate 70, was completed earlier this spring. Daily operations began in June.The addition is part of the five-year plan developed in 2013 by the district’s board of directors and administration to address an increase in call volume.The expansion was made possible with a 15-cent tax increase approved by voters in 2014.NEW BASE
