Residents encouraged to sign up for CodeRed service

Posted
To help be prepared for an emergency, Warren County residents are encouraged to sign up with CodeRed to receive severe weather warnings on their home and cellphones. They can also receive emails and text messages. CodeRed is an emergency alert service provided at no charge, although standard carrier fees do apply to text messages. Alerts are based on location and addresses, so only residents directly affected will be notified. When the National Weather Service issues a severe thunderstorm warning, tornado warning, or flash flood warning, CodeRed sends a prerecorded message directly to those who have registered their phone numbers. Registering is easy by going to www.warrencountyhealth.com or www.warrencountyema.com and clicking on the CodeRed icon, then follow the prompts. A test call can be initiated when all required information is entered and verified. Citizens who do not have access to the Internet may contact the Warren County Health Department at 636-456-7474 or Warren County Emergency Management Agency at 636-456-3786 and request to be registered with CodeRed for severe weather warnings. Residents who signed up with the previous system, DeltAlert, will need to register with CodeRed in order to receive new alerts.
