William F. Meyer

1924 - 2010

 William "Bud" Frederick Meyer, 85, Jonesburg, passed away after a long illness on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis.

 Mr. Meyer was born Oct. 14, 1924, in St. Louis, the son of William F. Meyer and wife Nora C., nee Lasley.

 Mr. Meyer served his country in the U.S. Navy from July 26, 1943-April 2, 1946.

 He met Eleanor Schulze and they were married on Sept. 10, 1949, in Warrenton. They were married for 61 wonderful years. 

 Bud worked as a truck driver hauling rock for O'Fallon Quarry for 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesburg. As a young man he played the banjo along with his sisters.

Bud and Eleanor also raised cattle, pigs and horses. They loved to dance and Bud could not resist getting a small child to smile. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Bud always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his face. 

 Mr. Meyer was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nicholas Meyer.

He is survived by his wife Eleanor Meyer, Jonesburg; his children, Linda Meyer, Montgomery City, Richard Meyer and wife Becky, High Hill, David Meyer and Dale Meyer, both of Jonesburg, and Darlene Buxton and husband Gary, Warrenton; two sisters, Lorraine Bidleman, Ferguson, and Laverne Anderson and husband, Andy, Jefferson City; five grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. 

 Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 27, at Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg.

Burial with military honors was in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery north of Jonesburg. Casket bearers were Gary Buxton Jr., Michael Buxton, Denny Schulze, Larry Schulze, Chris Anderson and Randy Sagez. 

 Memorials to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of Harding Funeral Home, P.O. Box 186, Jonesburg, MO 63351 are preferred.

Mildred Faye Groeper

1929 - 2010

 Mildred "Faye" Groeper, 81, Wright City, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Peters.

 Mrs. Groeper was born March 8, 1929, in Wright City, the daughter of Fred and Melle Lichte.

 She was a homemaker and a member of Emmanuel United Church of Christ. Mrs. Groeper was a member of Eastern Star for over 60 years and co-owner of Economy Super Market in Wright City.

Mrs. Groeper was preceded in death by her parents, two half brothers and two half sisters. 

 She is survived by her husband, William "Bill" Groeper, Wright City; one son, Jack Groeper and wife Mary, Wright City, one daughter, Kathy McFarland and husband Rodney, Neosho; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. 

 Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 27, at Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Wright City. Burial followed in Wright City Cemetery.

Memorials to Wright City Blue and Gold Scholarship Fund in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred. 

 The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.

 

Geneva Gail White

1934 - 2010

 Geneva Gail White, 75, Warrenton, formerly of Jonesburg, passed away Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at Jonesburg Nursing and Rehab in Jonesburg.

 Mrs. White was born Dec. 6, 1934, in St. Louis, the daughter of John Beard and wife Bertha, nee Kobel. 

 She married Billy Joe White on March 20, 1954. They were married 56 years.

Mrs. White worked at Beacon Shoe Factory in Jonesburg. She loved to garden, grow flowers and spend time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed feeding and watching the hummingbirds and liked going places with her lady friends. 

 She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill White, who passed away on Aug. 24, 2000, and one brother, Harold Beard.

 Mrs. White is survived by one son, Billy White, Marthasville; one daughter, Tina Gregory, Jonesburg; two grandsons, Benjamin and Bradley Gregory, Jonesburg; other relatives and many friends. 

 Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 29, at Harding Funeral Home in Jonesburg. Burial was in the Jonesburg City Cemetery.

Memorials to Community Loving Care Hospice in care of Harding Funeral Home, P.O. Box 186, Jonesburg, MO 63351 are preferred.

Doris Ann West

1937 - 2010

 Doris Ann West, 73, Wentzville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. 

 Mrs. West was born April 8, 1937, in St. Louis, the daughter of Theodore Hardt and wife Goldie, nee Taylor. 

 She was a retired silk screen printer. 

 Mrs. West was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by one son, Frank D. West Jr. and wife Julie, Wentzville; one daughter, Vicki Brock and husband William, Corydon, Ind.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. 

 Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, with the Rev. Don Hodgson officiating. Burial followed in Warrenton City Cemetery.

 Memorials to Salvation Army in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. 

 The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton.

Funeral services for Rosario J. Ruggeri, 85, Warrenton, were held Tuesday, Sept. 28, at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. 

Mr. Ruggeri died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. 

He is survived by one son, Charles Carter and wife Betty; two daughters, Diane Reid and Tammy Bennett and husband Scott; other relatives and many friends. 

The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
