Obituaries for Thursday, February 11, 2010 Edition Harold E. Reese 1927-2010 Harold Edgar Reese, 82, Warrenton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West in Lake Saint Louis. Mr. Reese was born March 29, 1927, in Warrenton, the son of William J. Reese and wife Margaretha "Lillian," nee Welling. On Oct. 16, 1954, in Warrenton, he was united in marriage to Vera Mae Sanker. They were married 43 years. Mr. Reese served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1945 to 1946. He was a member of VFW Post 2180 and American Legion Post 122, both in Warrenton. Mr. Reese owned and operated Reese Custom Digging and Reese Appliance Store, both in Warrenton and was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, Warrenton. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Vera, on Oct. 2, 1997. Mr. Reese is survived by one son, Dale Reese, Warrenton; one brother, Virgil Reese and wife Gladys, Greenfield, Ill.; two grandsons, Jeff Reese and William Reese; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 12, at 11 a.m. at Friedens United Church of Christ, Warrenton. Burial will follow in Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorials to the church in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. The family is being served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Timothy P. Carter 1961-2010 Timothy Patrick Carter, 48, New Florence, passed away Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at his home. Mr. Carter was born June 19, 1961, in St. Louis, the son of James F. Carter and wife Suzanne M., nee Oth. He was a sheet metal worker and a member of Local 36 Sheet Metal Union. He was also a former student at Missouri Military Academy. Mr. Carter was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Donna Gardner, New Florence; three sisters, Colleen Marxkors and husband John, Chesterfield, Christine Carter, Las Vegas, Nev., and Cathleen Herring, Conway, S.C.; two nieces, Michele Marxkors and Laura Marxkors; other relatives and many friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, from 10 a.m. until noon at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton. Funeral services will follow at noon with the Rev. Bill Thess officiating. Cremation is being provided by Pitman Cremation Services, Wentzville. Memorials to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Hauskins 1938-2010 Maxine "Mickey" Fern Hauskins, 72, Montgomery City, formerly of Jonesburg, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital West, Lake Saint Louis. Mrs. Hauskins was born Jan. 23, 1938, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Clifford Garrett and wife Mary (Alzora), nee Ramsour. She attended Montgomery County High School. She worked at the Beacon Shoe Company in Jonesburg where she worked in the department that glued soles onto the shoes for many years. On March 17, 1956, she was united in marriage to Kenneth D. Hauskins of Jonesburg. The ceremony was to take place at 2 p.m. at Rev. L.L. Fuqua's home in Florissant, a former pastor of Jonesburg Baptist Church. Before the ceremony could take place, Mickey's father, Clifford Garrett, informed her that she had to help plant a large garden full of potatoes before the wedding could take place. She dug and planted that large potato garden in record time and was happily married at 2 p.m. for 54 wonderful years. Mrs. Hauskins was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Duaine Hauskins, and one sister, Doris Holt. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, Montgomery City; one daughter, Kim Dryden and husband Bob, Montgomery City; three grandchildren, Christopher Dryden, Lindsey Dryden, and Jessica Dryden, all of Montgomery City; one brother, Clifford (Gene) Garrett and wife Karen, Troy; her mother-in-law, Darlyne Hauskins, Jonesburg; stepbrothers and sisters by marriage; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg, with the Rev. B.T. Clemons officiating. Burial was in the Jonesburg City Cemetery. Casket bearers were Mrs. Hauskins' nephews, Cliffy Garrett and Darryl Sanker, her cousin, Bobby Eugene Garrett, her stepbrother, Jim McGibany and close family friends, Jim Wisdom, Tom Bryant and Steve Frauenhoffer. Honorary casket bearers were her nephew, John Garrett and close family friend, Tim Hartman. Memorials to American Cancer Society or Multiple Sclerosis Society of St. Louis in care of Harding Funeral Home, P.O. Box 186, Jonesburg, MO 63351 are preferred. Violet Jean Smith 1931-2010 Violet Jean Smith, 78, Truesdale, passed away Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at her home. Mrs. Smith was born June 14, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Mich., the daughter of George F. Sorenson and wife Leona, nee Roberts. On Sept. 26, 1949, in South Bend, Ind., she was united in marriage to Rueben Robert Smith. They were married 59 years. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and a member of College United Methodist Church in Warrenton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rueben, on Jan. 6, 2009, two brothers, Merritt Sorenson and Sidney Sorenson, and one grandson, Daniel. Mrs. Smith is survived by two sons, John Smith and wife Anna, Paragould, Ark., and Neal Smith and wife Martha, Marthasville; five daughters, Leona Harris, Royse City, Texas, Gloria Butler and husband Larry, Truesdale, Terra Weckherlin and husband Terry, Warrenton, Chandra Kimbro and husband Tom, St. Robert, and Sonia Mans and husband Larry, Bono, Ark.; one sister, Henrietta McPherson, Benzonia, Mich.; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 5, at Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton, with the Rev. Christiane Batjer officiating. Burial was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Funeral services for Ruth G. Moore, 89, St. Charles, were held Wednesday, Feb. 10, at Friedens United Church of Christ, Warrenton. Interment was in Warrenton City Cemetery. Mrs. Moore died Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010, at National Health Care, St. Charles. She is survived by two sons, Chuck W. Moore and wife Jan, and John R. Moore and wife RaeAnn; one daughter, Diane "DeeDee" Tempel and husband Ron; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services for James "Jim" Edward Parr, 76, Wentzville, will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theodore Church, Flint Hill. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Parr died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. He is survived by his wife, Jane Parr, nee Koch; five daughters, Monica Niederer and husband John, Nancy Groeblinghoff and husband Larry, Norma Lloyd and husband Phil, Laurie Schulte and husband Jim, and Ann Wilmes and husband Neil; other relatives and many friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Visitation for Cecil S. Barger, 91, Foristell, will be held Friday, Feb. 12, from 4-8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 13, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Wright City. Mr. Barger is survived by two daughters, Lynnette Barger and Janell Barger; other relatives and many friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. Memorial services for Steve L. Noack, 59, Warrenton, were held Saturday, Feb. 6, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Warrenton. Mr. Noack died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis. He is survived by his wife Lesley, nee Cooke; one son, Jim Noack; three daughters, Lesley Lumpkin and husband Chris, Alisson Hempel and husband Darryl, and Meredith Mischlispy and husband Jacob; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Martin Funeral Home, Warrenton. Funeral services for Arthur M. Isselhardt, 92, Warrenton, will be held Thursday, Feb. 11, at 10 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis. Mr. Isselhardt died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at New Florence Care Center in New Florence.
