Marthasville Elementary celebrated the completion of its Story Walk project Friday, May 9. The project was funded by a grant from WINGS (Washington’s Investment in Great Schools). The Story Walk is an addition to the outdoor classroom area and concentrates on promoting literacy. The outdoor classroom includes benches made by local Scouts, garden planters made by students and an insect habitat area. Graphic design students from Four Rivers Career Center created the interactive reading materials. A total of 16 story boards are placed around the school grounds. Washington School District building and grounds staff installed the story boards.
