The Warrenton football team has no intention of slowing down. After tonight’s 47-13 win over Holt, the Warriors are still the team to beat with a 6-0 record.
Starting the game off, Warrenton was down three points after Holt’s field goal. However, it was not long until Austin Haas put six points on the board for the Warriors after a 10-yard run.
Starting the second quarter, Haas did not slow down and rushed a 62-yard touchdown. A few minutes later, the Warrenton defense recovered a fumble on the 18-yard line.
With one minute left in the first half, Javon Jones rushed for nine yards to put the Warrior’s offense at the one-yard line. Jones finished the play and rushed one-yard for a touchdown.
Holt put up another three points off a field goal and Warrenton led going into halftime 18-6.
In the third, Haas added his third touchdown of the night off a 25-yard rush. Holt quickly added their first touchdown of the night afterwards. Haas, again, scored for the Warriors off a 13-yard run.
Warrenton added on a two-point conversion after Brandon Johnson threw the ball to Austin White in the endzone. The Warriors led 32-13 after the third quarter.
Starting the fourth, for a season-high, Haas tacked on his fifth touchdown of the night. The Warriors went for another two point conversion that was scored by Jones.
Johnson scored the final touchdown of the night on a 62-yard run after a successful fake.
The Warriors are now 6-0 into the season. More on the story in the Oct. 10 edition.
