Gary Wayne Blackstock, 73, of Jonesburg passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at his home with his loved ones at his side. He was born on July 10, 1948, in St. Louis to J. B. and Anna Mae Blackstock (nee Diefenbach).
Gary is survived by his wife, Bonnie Blackstock (Hans); son, Richard (Elizabeth) Blackstock of Jonesburg; mother, Anna Mae Blackstock (Diefenbach); sister, Weymouth Brown (Blackstock); grandchildren Austin, Ryan, Megan, Wyatt, and Jolene Blackstock, all of Jonesburg; many other relatives and friends.
Gary was preceded in death by his grandparents, his father, J. B. Blackstock, and his brother-in-law, Tom Brown, as well as other loved ones and friends.
Gary was united in marriage to Bonnie Hans on April 11, 1970, in High Hill, MO. They were blessed with 51 years of marriage together. Gary graduated from Warrenton High School Class of 1966. He was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the United States Army. Gary was a lifetime farmer raising crops, hogs, and cattle; an over-the-road truck driver; and an avid outdoorsman and agriculturist. Gary was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. Gary’s family was his pride and joy. He was a friend to many and loved by all who got to know him. He was a family man and passionate about passing his love for agriculture to his grandbabies.
Gary was a devout Christian, a member of Jonesburg Masonic Lodge #457, Member of the Order of the Eastern Star #232, and Warrenton VFW post # 2180.
Visitation for Gary will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022, from 1 to 5 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Jonesburg. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 28, also at the funeral home. Masonic Services will be held immediately before the funeral service. Gary will be laid to rest at Jonesburg City Cemetery.
