Children will receive free meals this summer through a new program offered by AGAPE and the Warren County R-III School District.“We are so pleased to be able to offer this new program to help ensure that no children are going hungry this summer,” said Michelle Bernth, AGAPE executive director. “This is a great opportunity for us to fill an unmet need in our community.”The summer meals program will offer free lunches to children 18 and under, Monday through Friday. The program will run from July 1 to Aug. 2. Meals will be served at two permanent locations and four mobile locations.Meals will be served at AGAPE Food Pantry from 11-11:45 a.m. and AGAPE Thrift from 12:15 –1 p.m.Meals will be served at these mobile Locations:• Hawthorne Village Playground, 11–11:20 a.m.• Andorra Estates Cul-de-sac, 11:30– 11:50 a.m.• Paddock Fields Park, noon -12:20 p.m.• Truesdale Bruer Park, 12:30-12:50 p.m.Families can text “FOOD” or “COMIDA” to 877-877 to find the location nearest them.No registration is required and children do not have to have a parent with them to receive food.The summer meals program is a partnership between AGAPE, the Warren County R-III School District and Operation Food Search.“We are happy to partner with AGAPE on this important program,” said Dr. Gregg Klinginsmith, Warren County R-III superintendent. “Serving Warren County children is our district’s overall goal and this fits perfectly into that.”For more information about this program, please contact 636-456-4645.AGAPE, a non-profit, serves more than 3,000 families in Warren County with a variety of programs. AGAPE’s primary service is providing food to individuals and families who are facing food insecurity. Founded in 1996 by a group of concerned people representing area churches, businesses and community groups, AGAPE raises and distributes over 300,000 pounds of food each year.
