Firefighters with Warrenton Fire Protection will visit local schools and host an open house next week to educate the community during Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6-12.Throughout the week, firefighters will participate in a national initiative to inform children and other members of the community about the small but important actions that can keep them safe from fire. In a fire, seconds can make a difference in escaping danger, so it’s important for people of all ages to understand fire risks and how to react in case of a fire.Warrenton firefighters will visit Rebecca Boone Elementary on Oct. 8, Warrior Ridge Elementary on Oct. 9, and Daniel Boone Elementary on Oct. 10 to educate students about fire safety.The fire district will host an open house for the community Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Warrenton Fire Station 2. The station is located at 26625 S. Highway 47 in Warrenton. This is a chance to meet local firefighters, see some of the equipment they use and learn about how to prevent fires at home and in the community.Warrenton Fire Protection District logo
