On Monday, June 9, the Warren County Sheriff's Department received a report of a group of bikers on the Katy Trail around Marthasville who appeared to be riding in the nude. A deputy was dispatched to the scene, who caught up with the group near Bernheimer Road. "It was a group of about 30 kids, most of them women," said Warren County Sheriff Kevin Harrison. "They were riding their bikes and walking along the Katy Trail completely in the nude." The deputy, according to Harrison, did not arrest any of the group or charge them with a crime. "But he did tell them they needed to put their clothes back on," said Harrison. "It could have been an embarrassing situation had these bikers come across a family with some small children. "This is obviously not something we want to encourage," added Harrison. Harrison also said his office notified the Katy Trail ranger in the area to alert him about the situation. Harrison said his office had received no further reports of any disturbances caused by the group of students. He said he was unaware of whether the students had removed their clothing again once they left the area where they were confronted. "They seemed to think it would be an exciting and memorable experience to bike the Katy Trail in the nude," Harrison related. "It was apparently a college prank but we don't condone that sort of behavior."
