The Wright City Board of Aldermen recently set the city’s 2016 property tax rates and revised its codes on modular homes.The tax rates are charged on each $100 of assessed valuation of property.The tax rates for real estate and personal property for 2016 will be:General fund, 49.70 cents;Public lighting on streets, alleys and public spaces, 18.46 cents;Public parks maintenance, 9.23 cents; andDedicated amount to retire principal and interest due on general obligation bonds approved by voters, 22 cents.In other recent action, city officials revised codes to include modular homes. Previous ordinances applied to mobile homes and mobile home parks but did not mention modular homes. The revised ordinance offers regulations for modular homes that include permitting, lot size, setbacks, landscaping requirements and licensing.The aldermen tabled a bill to approve a contract for architectural and engineering services for a new city hall and police station.Wright City
