ust like his team, Wright City senior lineman Ayden Dile was thrust into a tough spot on Nov. 7.
In the Wildcats’ 45-14 loss at St. Francis Borgia in the team’s Class 3, District 3 semifinal, the 6-foot, 270-pound Dile shifted spots to take the mantle as the team’s starting center due to the unavailability of the team’s regular starter.

Ada Ferrell’s second trip to the Class 3 state cross country meet on Nov. 7 in Columbia was a little different than her first.
With no rain this time, sunny weather and a handful of pre-race Skittles, the Wright City junior finished 70th with a season-best time of 21:52. Last year, she finished 72nd with a 22:01 under cold and muddy conditions.

When the Liberty Christian boys soccer team started its season in August, it set a clear goal to build off of its 2024 campaign, where it lost three games at the MCSAA Division I State Championships.

The Liberty Christian volleyball team capped off a successful season with a fourth-place finish at the MCSAA Division I State Championships on Oct. 25.
The Eagles went 3-2 in the tournament, defeating Heartland, Overland Christian and Lighthouse Prep Academy in two sets. They fell in two sets to Lighthouse Prep in a rematch and Plaza Heights for the third-place match.

With its 47-22 home win over Principia at America’s Heartland Stadium in a Class 3 District 3 quarterfinal on Oct. 31, the Wright City football team not only ended a two-game slide and extended its season but made program history in doing so.
Wright City (7-3) secured its 23rd win over the course of the past four seasons, breaking the old mark, which the program set between 2007-10.

The Class 4, District 3 cross country meet on Nov. 1 at Sioux Passage Park in Florissant was a successful one for the Warrenton Warriors as they qualified three runners to the Class 4 state meet at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course.
Landon Neace, Matt Craven and Makenna Faubion will represent Warrenton at the state meet on Nov. 7 as they all placed in the top 30 at districts. Neace finished 22nd in 18 minutes, 27 seconds and Craven came in 23rd in 18:29 in the boys race and Faubion placed 30th in 22:27 in the girls race.

The Wildcats fell 4-3 to top-seeded Blair Oaks in a Class 3, District 2 semifinal game at Owensville. Wright City had a 3-2 lead in the top of the seventh before the Falcons came back with two runs in the inning to pull off the win.
