The Warren County R-III School Board has aligned with the Missouri School Boards Association (MSBA) on updating nearly all district policies. At its December meeting, the board summarily approved by unanimous vote 18 of the 19 MSBA recommendations governing topics such as release of information, artificial intelligence use, reductions in professional staff workforce, special education, admissions, enrollment eligibility, dress code, weapons at school, discipline, discipline reporting and records, behavioral threat assessment and suicide awareness. more

The Warren County R-III School District has brought itself into compliance with state statutes governing the payment of substitute teachers, which will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2026. Missouri House Bill 567, signed by Governor Mike Kehoe into law on July 10, repealed statewide earned paid sick time and modified the state's minimum wage law. The current rate of $13.75 will rise to $15.00. more
The public comments section at the December meeting of the Wright City R-II School Board, before a near-capacity audience, focused on a single subject. The three commenters urged the district to renew its current bus provider, Eccoride, for a new five-year services contract beginning with the 2026-27 school year. Driver Amy Kessler extolled the virtues of Eccoride. more

In the United States, between 39-40% of fourth graders perform below the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) basic level in reading, meaning they struggle with basic comprehension. The Wright City R-II School District is working to improve this number for its students. more
The Missouri Department of Transportation invites Missouri students in grades K-12 to help fight litter in Missouri—and to have creative and educational fun—by participating in the 2026 “Yes You CAN Make Missouri Litter-Free” trash-can-decorating contest. The contest is part of MoDOT’s annual “No MOre Trash!” statewide litter campaign, which is held in April.   more

While cellphone insubordination isn’t a surprising discipline issue the Warren County R-III School District is facing, given the new state law that went into effect at the start of the school year, there are some other eyebrow-raising concerns. more
What could have turned into an even longer headache for Wright City and for the R-II School District appears headed for a fix, thanks to a mutually agreed-upon solution between officials. Recent rains have led to continuing stormwater drainage issues and subsequent flooding on Roelker Road at the site of the new high school. more

Upon moving to the Wright City area two years ago, Donna Hale didn’t know many people. That’s when she received a sign in the form of, well, a sign from the Wright City R-II School District. “I didn’t know anybody or have a community,” Hale said. “We kept driving by and seeing the ‘substitute teachers needed’ sign. It took a little bit to go through the process, but I think I’ve found my purpose and my people.” more

The Rolling Stones 4-H club kicked off October’s 4-H Week with several collection activities. Several club members from different Warren County 4-H clubs came together and collected and packed items for First Responder Baskets to show their ongoing appreciation for the service our first responders provide to Warren County and to say THANK YOU for your service. The clubs hand delivered the baskets to all the first responder locations throughout Warren County.  more
