The Wright City R-II School District recently announced a pair of hires to its administrative staff.
Angie Ward has been hired as the district’s new director of human resources while Dr. Kate Marchetto has been named the new principal at East Elementary.
Ward possesses more than 14 years of human resources experience, with a background in employee relations, recruitment, compliance and organizational support.
Her position will play an important role in supporting district staff and strengthening workplace practices across all buildings.
“I'm excited to join the Wright City School District,” Ward said. “I look forward to partnering with our leaders, teachers, staff and the community. I'm grateful for the opportunity and I'm eager to get started.”
As director of human resources, Ward will oversee personnel services, staffing, and employee support in an effort to help the district to attract, retain, and support teachers and staff.
Superintendent Dr. Amy Salvo said it will be easy to lean on Ward in her new position, given Ward's wealth of knowledge from years in similar roles.
“We are excited to add Angie’s knowledge and experience to our team,” said Salvo. “Her leadership will be a valuable asset as we continue to grow and support our employees.”
Marchetto, who succeeds current Principal Dawn Hickman after her June 30 retirement, has been the school’s assistant principal for the past year.
Salvo said she expects Marchetto’s transition into the principal role to ensure continuity in leadership and a smooth transition as the school prepares for the upcoming academic year.
“She has been an ambitious and steady leader within the East Elementary community,” said Salvo. “Dr. Marchetto’s experience, dedication, and understanding of our students and staff make her a natural fit to step into this role.”
Marchetto will step into her new role having obtained a background in supporting instructional leadership, student success and (helping oversee) daily school operations, by working closely with teachers and families.
“It is an honor to continue working alongside students, families, and staff at East Elementary,” Marchetto said. “This is a special community where strong relationships and a positive school climate support student learning and growth. Guided by our district’s mission of being Dedicated to Students’ Success, my goal is to ensure every student feels supported and empowered to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally, because our work truly begins and ends with students.”
