Three Wright City basketball players earned postseason recognition for their play on the court this season.
Senior Carle'on Jones was selected to the Eastern Missouri Conference first team, while teammate Duan McRoberts earned a second-team nod.
Jones was one of 10 players named to the first team. Unanimous selections were Nikos Connaway and Pacey Reading (Van-Far), Kain Eivins (Clopton), Jace Eskew (Bowling Green), Clayton Parker and Jake Stellwagen (Montgomery County) and Sam Pezold (North Callaway). Other first-team picks were Isiah Craighead (North Callaway) and Chase Hall (Clopton).
Players named to the EMO second team were Esekiel Byers and Ben Dowell (Elsberry), Cash Eivins (Clopton), Tyler Erwin and Isaiah Thomas (Montgomery County), Cooper Henderson (Wellsville-Middletown), Carter Jennings (Van-Far), Sam Northcutt (Mark Twain) and Tyler Twellman (Silex).
Montgomery County’s Scott Kroeger was named Coach of the Year.
On the girls side, Wright City sophomore Shiriah McRoberts was the lone Wildcat named to the all-conference team. She earned a second-team selection.
The EMO first-team was led by unanimous selections Braya Smith (Clopton), Mya Pflasterer (Elsberry), Malia Rodgers and Madison Queathem (Montgomery County) and Abagail Mooney (Silex). Other first-team selections were Kaylyn Charlton (Bowling Green), Charleigh Spoonster (Clopton), Reece Wommack (Louisiana), Olivia Shaw (Montgomery County) and Riley Blevins (North Callaway).
Other players named to the second team were Tinleigh Spoonster (Clopton), Grace White (Elsberry), Jordan Pedersen (Louisiana), Adalynne Means (Mark Twain), Madi Polston (Mark Twain), Natalie Shryock (North Callaway), Maddie Isom (Silex), Carmen Wilburn (Van-Far) and Bethany Slovensky (Wellsville-Middletown).
Joe Basinger of Montgomery Coach was named the EMO Girls Coach of the Year.
