A Wright City woman has been charged with multiple criminal offenses stemming from a traffic stop earlier this year when she was allegedly found in possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Jennifer Henke was charged Nov. 4 with felony possession of a controlled substance, along with misdemeanors including failure to register a motor vehicle, failure to maintain financial responsibility and speeding 20-25 miles per hour over the speed limit.
Henke was stopped in the early morning hours of April 26 after a Wright City police officer observed her driving on the North Service Road east of Wildcat Drive at approximately 55 mph in a 35 mph zone in a Ford Taurus with no license plates, according to a probable cause statement.
Henke was unable to provide a title, bill of sale, and proof of insurance for the vehicle, which she claimed were in her purse in a locked shed at her residence, according to the statement. While interacting with Henke, the officer observed indicators of narcotics use and requested assistance from the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, which deployed a K9 unit.
The K9 alerted to narcotics in the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed substances later confirmed by the St. Charles County Crime Lab to be methamphetamine and fentanyl, according to the probable cause statement.
An initial appearance for Henke, born in 1986, has been scheduled for Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. in Warren County Circuit Court.
