Wright City R-II school district moving forward to find new superintendent

Posted

The Wright City R-II Board of Education voted last week to approve a proposal for their upcoming superintendent search.

The board approved the Missouri School Board Association superintendent search proposal at last week’s special meeting. Current Superintendent Dr. Chris Berger recently announced his retirement effective at the end of June. Berger is in his fourth year as the district’s superintendent.

The search will begin immediately and conclude with the hire of the district’s next superintendent. The first step in the process will be a stakeholder survey, which is open through Nov. 30. The survey requests information from community members on the desired qualifications that are most important for the position to ensure the new hire is a good fit for both the district and the community.

The survey will be anonymous unless an individual provides their name voluntarily.

The district is also currently accepting applications for the position. They started accepting applications Nov. 9 and will accept applications through the end of December.

The board will review applications Jan. 5 and will screen candidates Jan. 11.

The board will conduct formal interviews Jan. 21.
