Wright City aldermen approved the purchase of a new city police car during its Feb. 8 meeting.
The Wright City Police Department had a vehicle totaled in an accident in 2023.
Insurance issued the city a payment of $43,775.
The new vehicle cost was $45,014, leaving the city to cover $1,239 of the cost.
The police department was able to get most of the equipment out of the totaled vehicle. Police Chief Tom Canavan said any additional equipment would be paid for out of the small equipment budget.
The Wright City Police Department was expected to acquire the new vehicle on Feb. 9.
