The Warrenton Warriors dominated Owensville to win their third straight game to start the season.
Warrenton (3-0) took the lead in the second quarter and did not look back in their 42-7 road win over Owensville (2-1).
The Warriors took the lead in the first quarter on their first offensive drive. After Peyton Dawson intercepted a pass to give Warrenton the ball, the Warriors struck first on Austin Haas' 7-yard touchdown run. Owensville scored later in the quarter to tie the game.
Warrenton blocked an Owensville field goal attempt the first play of the second quarter to keep the game tied. Warrenton followed up the blocked field goal with a touchdown drive highlighted by a 75-yard touchdown pass from Charlie Blondin to Mason Thompson. Blondin and Kadin Stroer recorded 1-yard touchdown runs later in the quarter. Warrenton led 28-7 at halftime.
Haas scored on a pair of rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter to extend Warrenton's lead to 42-7 in the third quarter. There was no score in the final quarter with a running clock.
Warrenton will open GAC North play next week with a road game at St. Charles at 7 p.m. Sept. 15.
