The Warrenton baseball team continued their strong play in conference action with wins over St. Charles and North Point.
Warrenton (8-8) moved to 7-1 in the GAC North with three conference wins. The Warriors beat St. Charles 9-5 last week to sweep their season series. Warrenton never trailed in the win. The Warriors scored three runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth inning to claim a 9-3 lead. Warrenton scored at least one run in five of their six offensive innings in the home win.
Kannon Hibbs, Tyler Oliver and Mason Thompson each recorded two hits for the Warriors in the win. Oliver and Thompson led the Warriors with two RBIs apiece. Collin Disilvister led the Warriors with three runs scored. Ben Peth earned the win for Warrenton. Peth pitched 6 1/3 innings and surrendered four earned runs. Peth struck out nine Pirate batters in the win. Thompson got the last two outs for the Warriors.
After dropping a non-conference game to St. Clair, Warrenton earned a pair of conference wins over North Point. They beat the Grizzlies 9-3 in the first of two games between the GAC North foes. Oliver led Warrenton on the mound and at the plate in the win. Oliver earned the win on the mound. He pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs. He allowed two hits and struck out six North Point battters.
Oliver led the Warriors with three hits at the plate. Oliver and Hibbs each scored three runs for Warrenton. Ben Peth and Sam Wortham each had two RBIs.
Warrenton scored three runs in the sixth inning to pull away from North Point in Wednesday's game. Seven Warriors had at least one hit in the win. Oliver led the Warriors with two hits and two RBIs. Caleb Clark scored two runs for the Warriors.
Peth earned the win for Warrenton. He pitched five innings and allowed one earned run. He struck out seven North Point batters. Hibbs finished the game on the mound with two scoreless innings to earn the save.
