The lives of six fallen soldiers buried in the Wright City Cemetery will be remembered during a special program Tuesday, May 21.
The program, sponsored by the Wright City Cemetery Memorial Society, begins at 6 p.m. on May 21 in the cemetery. Parking will be available in the cemetery or in the parking lot of Immanuel United Church of Christ.
Four of the men – Luther Daniel, Edward Gill, Harry Scheibe, and Alfer Williams – were killed during World War II. Phillip Hunt and Dale North died in the jungles of Vietnam. Following their deaths, all six were returned to their families in Wright City. During the program, the stories of each of the men will be recounted at their gravesite.
While the program is free, donations to assist veterans’ programs will be accepted.
Following the program, refreshments will be served in the Fellowship Hall of Immanuel Church.
In case of rain, the program will be given in the Fellowship Hall.
