Three Wright City Wildcats were named to the Class 4, District 6 baseball first team.
Kyle Johnson, Duan McRoberts and Hayden Waters were all named to the district’s first team.
A senior, Johnson started at first base for two games in the district tournament and also started one game on the mound for the Wildcats. Johnson recorded two hits and had three RBIs in the three district tournament games. He hit a home run in his last at-bat in the seventh inning of the district championship game against St. Charles West. Johnson started the district semifinal game against Lutheran St. Charles. He threw six innings and allowed one earned run. He picked up the win.
A freshman, McRoberts was also named to the first team. He started all three district games in the outfield. He recorded three hits and walked four times in the leadoff spot for Wright City. He also scored four runs in the three games.
Waters started two games on the mound and also started one game in the outfield for the Wildcats. Waters pitched six innings and allowed two earned runs in the district quarterfinal game against Bowling Green. He struck out seven batters in the game. Waters hit a walkoff single in the game. Waters also pitched six innings in the district championship game against St. Charles West.
He had two hits and three RBIs in the district quarterfinal game against Bowling Green.
