The annual Strassenbash festival in Wright City is this Friday and Saturday at Diekroeger Park. The festival is back to being a two-day event this year, with activities starting Friday evening.

Vendors, family activities, barrel train and kids’ games will be at the park starting 6 p.m. Friday, along with St. Louis sports mascots Fredbird and Louie. A glow in the dark Bubble Bus party will begin at 6 p.m., and live music by My Friend Mike will start at 7 p.m. Registered teams will also compete in a cornhole tournament starting at 7 p.m.

Saturday events will get an early kickoff with a 7:30 a.m. sausage and pancake breakfast at Wright City Fire House 1, and an 8 a.m. 5K run to raise money for the Wright City Parks Foundation.

The Strassenbash Parade starts at 11 a.m. Saturday. This year’s parade participants were challenged to decorate their floats with the theme of cartoons, and are competing to see who can make the best float. The parade will travel through downtown Wright City from North First Street to North Second Street, and then to Diekroeger Park.

A whole day of activities begins from there, with plenty of attractions like bounce houses, balloon artist and more for kids, and live entertainment throughout the afternoon, along with 120 registered vendors.

Here’s a rundown of Saturday afternoon scheduled events:
• Noon to 2 p.m. — Mad Science demonstrations
• Noon to 2 p.m. — Live music by Mickey Scott
• 1 p.m. — Cornhole tournament (sign in and warm up starting at noon)
• 2-6 p.m. — Live music by Dawgs in the Smokehaus
• 3-4 p.m. — Disney and superhero character actors
• 6-9: p.m. — Glow foam party
• 7 p.m. — Live music by Whiskey Morning
