LCA wins MAC title
The Liberty Christian Lady Eagles earned a pair of comfortable wins to win another Metro Athletic Conference title.
Liberty Christian (22-6) earned wins over Rivers of Life Christian and Westwood Baptist Academy to win the conference title.
Liberty Christian earned a 71-30 win over Rivers of Life Christian in the MAC semifinals. Liberty Christian jumped out to a 25-7 lead after the first quarter and led 46-20 at halftime. Alli Meyer led the Lady Eagles with 24 points and nine rebounds. She also had seven assists. Anna Meyer added 20 points. Kylee Ball scored 13 points and had seven assists.
Liberty Christian cruised to a 55-31 win over Westwood Baptist Academy to win the MAC title. The Lady Eagles led 30-13 at halftime and outscored Westwood Baptist Academy in all four quarters. Alli Meyer finished the game with a double-double. She scored a team-leading 18 points and secured 14 rebounds. She also had nine assists. Anna Meyer and Lauren Moss also reached double figures in points. Meyer scored 17 points and Moss scored 11 points. Ball secured a team-leading 16 rebounds.
The Lady Eagles are scheduled to play Crosspoint Christian Feb. 16 in the first round of the Missouri Christian Schools Athletic Association Division II tournament.
Lady Warriors remain perfect
The Warrenton Lady Warriors remained perfect in conference play with a seven-point win over St. Charles West last week.
Warrenton (14-9) moved to 7-0 in GAC North games with a 46-39 road win over St. Charles West.
Warrenton jumped out to a 20-6 lead after the first quarter. They led 29-12 at halftime. After St. Charles West trim med Warrenton’s lead to three points at 33-30, Warrenton outscored St. Charles West by four points in the final quarter to remain unbeaten in conference play.
Warrenton was scheduled to play at Orchard Farm Tuesday. The Lady Warriors will host St. Charles High School at 5:30 p.m. Friday.
Warrenton drops game
The Warrenton boys basketball team dropped a road conference game to St. Charles West last week.
Warrenton (11-11) fell 69-49 to St. Charles West. The loss moved Warrenton to 3-4 in GAC North games.
St. Charles West led by double digits at the end of each quarter. They carried a 36-20 lead over Warrenton into halftime.
Deadrick Forrest led Warrenton with 16 points in the loss. Troy Anderson finished the game with 14 points.
Warrenton was scheduled to play at Orchard Farm Tuesday. They will host St. Charles at 7 p.m. Friday.
LCA falls in MAC semis
Liberty Christian (8-19) fell to Eagle Ridge Christian High School in the semifinals and Heritage Classical Christian Academy in the third place game.
Liberty Christian fell to Eagle Ridge Christian 44-43 in the MAC semifinals. Liberty Christian carried a lead into the final quarter in the loss. They led 28-27 at halftime and 38-36 at the end of the third quarter. Jack Duvel led Liberty Christian with 13 points in the loss. Willie Mueller registered a double-double. He finished the game with 10 points and 17 rebounds. Zach Dames also scored 10 points in the loss.
Liberty Christian was unable to hold on to a slim halftime lead in their loss to Heritage Classical Christian Academy in the MAC tournament third place game. Liberty Christian led 14-12 at halftime before the Hawks claimed the lead by outscoring Liberty Christian 14-8 in the third quarter. Duvel scored 13 points to lead the Eagles. Dames added 10 points. Mueller led Liberty Christian with 13 rebounds.
Liberty Christian is scheduled to square off against Overland Christian in the first round of the Missouri Christian Schools Athletic Association Division II tournament Feb. 16. Tipoff is slated for 12 p.m.
Lady Wildcats drop pair
The Wright City girls basketball teams dropped a pair of EMO conference games.
Wright City (8-15) fell 49-44 in their home regular season finale against Clopton last week. They fell 58-49 in a road game against Van-Far Monday.
The Lady Wildcats will conclude their regular season schedule with a road game against Wellsville-Middletown at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 16
