PREPARING TEACHERS — The Marthasville Fire Protection District offered its first Safety Rodeo for area teachers and staff Tuesday, Aug. 8, at its Station 1 in Marthasville. Schools participating included All Encompassing Education, Marthasville Elementary, St. Ignatius and St. Vincent Catholic Schools. Training included stations about CPR, AED, choking, Stop the Bleed, fire extinguisher and medical emergencies.

STOP THE BLEED — Participants in the first Marthasville Fire Protection District’s safety rodeo learned a variety of skills Tuesday, Aug. 8. All school teachers and staff in the Marthasville fire district were encouraged to attend. Participants learned to properly apply tourniquets in the Stop the Bleed class. Schools attending included All Encompassing Education, Marthasville Elementary, St. Ignatius and St. Vincent Catholic Schools. MFPD firefighters volunteered to teach all classes, including CPR, AED, Stop the Bleed, Medical Emergencies, Choking and fire extinguisher usage.
