The Warrenton Lady Warriors went 1-1 in two games at the Hy-Vee Arena Holiday Shootout last week.
Warrenton (7-3, 3-0 GAC North) opened the Holiday Shootout with a 49-29 win over Warrensburg.
“We got an early jump on Warrensburg and kept it going the whole game,” Warrenton Head Coach Hannah Logan said.
Nevaeh Hill and Nyasia Love combined to score 32 of Warrenton’s 49 points in the win. Hill led the Lady Warriors with 19 points and eight rebounds. Love added 13 points for the Lady Warriors. Nine of her 13 points came on three-point field goals. Erin Klasing led Warrenton with four assists.
Warrenton dropped their second game of the tournament in a 52-28 loss to Smithville.
“(At the) end of the first quarter, it was 13-11,” Logan said. “And then in the second quarter, we couldn’t get it going. We only scored four points and had 10 turnovers.”
Hill logged a double-double for Warrenton in the loss. She scored 12 points and hauled in 11 rebounds. Isabel Benke added eight points for the Lady Warriors. Love had four steals in the loss.
Warrenton is slated to host Hermann Jan. 5.
