Wright City Youth Basketball

The Pre-K/Kindergarten basketball players of the Wright City park league put on a show of adorable basketball on March 2 at Wright City Middle School. The kids played 15 minutes of basketball, often running up and down the court, dribbling the ball when reminded by their coaches.

They also lit up the scoreboard, with the final score 24-22 and the losing team just missing a buzzer-beater that would have tied the game.

These were the only two Pre-K/Kindergarten teams, but there are 16 teams encompassing about 140 Wright City kids who participate from ages 4 to 13, Parks Director Stuart Bruning said.

League play begins at 8:30 a.m. Saturdays through March.
