Update 3 p.m. 12/06/2018The boil advisory has been lifted by Public Water Supply District 2.Original story:Wright City is still under a boil advisory Thursday.Public Water Supply District 2 announced a boil advisory for the Wright City area beginning just after 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. The water district had not announced when the boil advisory would be lifted as of 11:30 a.m. Thursday. The water district released a statement saying the advisory was issued after workers began connecting Wright City's water network to PWSD 2's Hickory Trails water system."The purpose of this transition is to provide our customers with improved flow, capacity, redundancy, and quality," PWSD 2 said.During the process of connecting the two networks, water pressure dropped low enough to trigger a boil advisory. Advisories are issued anytime water pressure in the systems drops below 20 psi, the water district stated. The district's announcement included that an automated system to notify customers of the boil advisory had not been functioning correctly, causing a delay in calls to customers.More information and updates can be found at http://waterdistrict2.com or the "Public Water Supply District #2 St. Charles County" Facebook page.Wright City School District announced Wednesday that all water fountains would be cut off and bottled water would be available for students while the boil advisory is in effect.Wright City Water Tower
