Wright City Man sentenced to 20 years

A Wright City man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple drug-related crimes.According to court documents, William Held, 38, pleaded guilty to one count of felony manufacturing a controlled substance, one count of felony possession of a controlled substance, and one count of felony receiving stolen property. Held was sentenced to 12 years in the state department of corrections on count one, 10 years on count two, and seven years on count three.The sentences will run concurrently.Held also was sentenced to eight years in a separate case after pleading guilty to delivering or concealing prohibited articles on jail premises. In both cases, the court ordered Held to complete a long-term substance abuse program. If he successfully completes the program he would be eligible for early release.In May, Wright City police went to the home of Held and his live-in girlfriend in the 50 block of Appaloosa Way to arrest Held for outstanding warrants in connection with methamphetamine production.When Held refused to come out, police set up a perimeter around the house. An hour later, Held surrendered peacefully to police. Ten days later Held was arrested for drug possession while in jail.Wright City Man setenced to 20 years
