A Wright City man is facing multiple felony charges for unlawful firearm possession after a search of his home by the East Central Drug Task Force.

James K. Champion was charged Tuesday, Sept. 1, with three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm following the execution of a search warrant at his residence that same day.

The search revealed a Marlin .22 rifle, a Remington .270 rifle, and a 9mm Ruger pistol, all of which were located in Champion’s bedroom, according to a probable cause statement. Champion, who is prohibited from possessing firearms due to past felony convictions, admitted the guns were his, according to the statement.

Champion, born in 1964, is being held without bond at the Warren County Jail.
