A Warrenton woman who admitted to striking her husband with an SUV pleaded guilty to first-degree domestic assault during a hearing last week at the Warren County Circuit Court.Michelle Castleberry, 22, accepted a plea agreement from the Warren County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office on July 11. Her official sentence of seven years in prison will be suspended as long as she successfully completes five years of state-supervised probation. The charge stems from an Oct. 1, 2016, incident in the parking lot of Waffle House in Warrenton.Saying she “couldn’t take it anymore,” Castleberry crashed her SUV into a motorcycle driven by her husband, authorities said.During an interview with police, Castleberry waived her Miranda rights and gave a voluntary statement admitting to striking her husband, Brandon Castleberry, with her SUV while he was on his motorcycle, according to authorities.Police said Brandon Castleberry, who was injured in the incident, stated his wife had struck him with her 2008 Ford Explorer.Warren County EMS responded to treat Brandon Castleberry for what appeared to be a broken left leg, police said.In her statement to police, Michelle Castleberry said she “ran over” her husband on purpose because of the argument they were having. Police took statements from witnesses, who confirmed that the couple had been engaged in a verbal and physical argument before the incident occurred shortly before 11 a.m.Police noted that the two lived together and have one child together.Michelle Castleberry
