Missouri State Highway Patrol investigated a fatal hit and run accident on Interstate 70 on May 3.
The fatal crash occurred at 6:25 a.m. at mile marker 192.8 in Warrenton.
According to the crash report, the victim, 36-year-old Tabatha L. Knichel, of St. Charles, was walking on the eastbound shoulder of the I-70 and walked into the path of the vehicle. The vehicle continued eastbound and did not stop. EMS pronounced Knichel dead at the scene.
The vehicle that struck Knichel was described as a freightliner Cascadia.
The investigation is ongoing.
