Winston William Schreckengast passed away on May 17, at the age of 91.
He is survived by his four children, Winston Schreckengast, Jr. of Montgomery City, William Schreckengast of Paris, Virginia Schreckengast of Lake Saint Louis, John (Janet ) Schreckengast; sister, Melavee Case of Magnolia, MS; sister-in-law, Bonnie Schreckengast; seven grandchildren, Nick Schreckengast, Josh Schreckengast, Jason Graham, Chad Schreckengast, Amanda Grimes, Patrick Schreckengast, Erika (Terry ) Marlow; many great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Harry L. Schreckengast, mother, Ruby M. Schreckengast, nee Witthaus, wife, Catherine V. Schreckengast, nee Lewis children, Irene Schreckengast and Patrick Schreckengast, brothers, Harry Schreckengast, and Earloyd Schreckengast, sister, Ivaree Hueffmeier, sister-in-law, Violet Schreckengast, brothers-in-law, Eddie Hueffmeier, and Jewell Case.
Winston proudly served his country in the United States Air Force at Lackland Air Force base in San Antonio, Texas 1951-1955. He worked for 31 years at the Wright City School District as a custodian. After retiring, he worked for the city of Wright City in the maintenance department and parks department. He loved WWE wrestling and vacationing with his daughter Virginia and grandson Jason.
A visitation will be held Saturday, May 20, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. A funeral service will follow at 10 a.m.
