Mr. William Joseph Rogers, of Warrenton, MO., passed away on Monday, December 7, 2020. He was born on November 5, 1965, in Jefferson City, MO., to the late Lester Harry and Stella Juanita (nee: Bowman) Rogers. William had reached the age of 55 years 1 month and 2 days.

William worked in Law Enforcement for 33 years. He began his career in Hermann, MO., as a Police Officer. He then transferred to Montgomery County and served as a Jailer, Sheriff, and Detective. After leaving Montgomery County he came to Warren County, where he served as a Juvenile Officer. William was united in marriage to Joyce Deptula on August 15, 1997, in Warrenton. They spent 23 wonderful years together. William was an avid reader and also a devoted Seattle sports fan. William also served our country in the United States Marine Corps. for four years. He was a devoted husband and father and he adored his grandchildren, who he enjoyed spending time with.

William Rogers was preceded in death by his parents; Lester and Stella, his father-in-law Robert Gerhart. Those grateful for having shared in Williams life are his loving wife; Joyce, his children; Les Hornbeck Jr., and wife Elena, Linda Smith and husband Dan, four grandchildren; Alexis Hornbeck, Madeline Hornbeck, Mason Smith, and Gavin Fineran, three siblings; Jerry Rogers and wife Brenda, Faith Schulte, Sue Juergens and husband Carl, his mother in law; Janet Gerhart, aunt; Dorothy Olsen, sister in law; Theresa Dapp and husband Tom, brother in law; Larry Deptula Jr., other relatives, and many friends.

A Celebration of William’s life will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Funeral services will also be on Saturday, December 12, 2020 beginning at 12:00 p.m. A committal service will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery.
