A Warrenton woman was killed in an early-morning house fire Saturday, authorities said.
Fire Chief Mike Owenby said the woman's body was discovered after firefighters extinguished the blaze and began overhauling the home. The single-story home was located in the 400 block of Roy Avenue, on the city's southeast side. The fire was reported at 3:25 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 5.
The woman's name has yet to be released, pending the results of an autopsy.
No cause for the fire has been determined, though it appears to be accidental, Owenby reported.
