The accident occurred when the three vehicles were traveling west on Interstate 70 west of Bryan Road in St. Charles County.
Kalah Thomas, 43, of Rawlins, Wyo., was traveling west on the interstate when she failed to acknowledge congestion ahead and crashed into the rear of the vehicle in front of her. Tamara St. Gemme-Brake, 51, of Wentzville was then forced into the vehicle in front of her, driven by Katie Dettmer, 29, of Warrenton.
Thomas' vehicle was totaled while St. Gemme-Brake's and Dettmer's received moderate and minor damage respectively. All three vehicles were removed from the scene by Superior Towing.
Kalah and St. Gemme-Brake were transported by the St. Charles Ambulance District to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake St. Louis. Kalah sustained minor injuries in the accident while St. Gemme-Brake was moderately injured, according to the crash report.
No injuries were reported for Dettmer.
