Warrenton is planning to celebrate its new turf baseball/softball fields during a ceremony at 11 a.m. March 23 at the Warrenton Athletic Complex.
Fields A, B, C, and D now have turf infields after an agreement between the city and Game 7 Baseball Inc. that was approved in September.
The cost of the project was about $1 million, with the cost split between the city and Game 7.
The agreement also allows Game 7 to have weekend softball and baseball tournaments and one weeknight of league games, and have use of the fields for the next 10 years without paying the normal costs required by the city.
The first game on the new turf fields will be played at 11:30 a.m. March 23.
