Warrenton aldermen approved a three-year contract with Katie Joyce to serve as the city’s prosecuting attorney during the Oct. 3 meeting.
Joyce, of Joyce Law, has served as the city’s prosecuting attorney for the past year and also serves as the city attorney for Truesdale.
The agreement requires Joyce to prosecute ordinance violations in municipal court and render informal opinions for the police department.
“Things have gone great with her,” City Administrator Brandie Walters said during the meeting. “She does a wonderful job for us. She’s been a really good asset.”
Joyce said she had enjoyed working with the city over the past year.
Alderman approved the contract 6-0.
