Vernon Timothy Schnaath, 62, of San Antonio, Texas, passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in Live Oak, Texas, after dealing with a long-time illness.
Vernon was born in Washington, Missouri, to Norman and Virginia Schnaath, on February 23, 1958. He went to Washington High School. He married Judy Groppe on March 26, 1988, in Herman, Missouri. He worked as a machinist for Metal Craft for 30+ years. He was a member of the St. Louis Bible Fellowship and participated and helped in several of Cowboy Lee’s Cowboy Camps. He is an avid horseman, outdoorsman, and prankster. He loved his horses and fur babies.
Vernon is preceded in death by his father, Norman Schnaath, and mother, Virginia (Henshaw) Schnaath.
Vernon is survived by his wife, Judy (Groppe) Schnaath, of San Antonio, Texas; his four children, Heather Toney and husband Eric, of Hanahan, South Carolina, Justin Schnaath, of Big Pine Key, Florida, Crystal Burks and husband David, of Fordland, Missouri, and Candice Tolbert, of Jacksonville, Florida. Three siblings Carolyn Wicks, of Lake Odessa, Michigan, Thomas Schnaath, of Washington, Missouri, and Neil Schnaath, of Marthasville, Missouri. Nine grandchildren, Sierra, Raquel, Tristen, Morgen, Jaxon, Leah, Lydia, Guy, and Joshua. He was also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be Friday, March 20, 2020, at Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville, with Neil Schnaath and Rick Owsley, of St. Louis Bible Fellowship, officiating, from 3-8 p.m.
Burial will follow at the Augusta City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Eric Toney, David Burks, Tristen Clark, Dennis Hart, Jeffery Glass, Timothy Wicks, and Nathan Schnaath.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Louis Bible Fellowship, 6234 Victoria Avenue, St. Louis, Mo. 63139.
