Mr. Richard "Richie" Allan King of Warrenton,  passed away on Tuesday, February 6, 2024. He was born on June 24, 1951, in Pensacola, FL to the late Thomas King and Jo Ella (nee: Bruce) Parnell.  Richie had reached the age of 72 years.

Richie proudly served our country in the United States Army as a Vietnam Combat Veteran from 1968 -1971. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Martin on January 28, 1999, in Warrenton. He worked in the construction industry for many years. Richie loved to hunt and fish in his free time. He was also a licensed Scuba Diver and worked on accident recovery. Richie loved to go golfing with his buddies, in fact golf was his passion. He was lucky enough to get two "hole in ones" during his golfing career. He also loved to spend time with his family and close friends. Richie was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.

Richie King was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas King, and Jo Parnell; two sisters, Tracy King and Gail King; one sister- in- law Cynthia Williams of San Diego CA, and two brothers in law, Steve Miller, and Ed Wittenbrink. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Cheryl; son, Travis Mangrum of Dexter; two stepdaughters, Joell Engelage and husband Kirk of Marthasville and Cassidy Zula, and husband Jeremy of Paris Ontario; one grandson Joshua; three granddaughters, Adrianna, Juniper, and Jynna; siblings, Sabrina Thompson and husband Bruce of Ellsinore, MO, Donna Stout and husband Ricky of Hawk Point and Derren King and wife Karen of Warrenton. Sister in laws, Carol Miller of Warrenton, Mary Wittenbrink of Perry, IL, Jeannie Holder of O'Fallon, Karen Martin of O'Fallon, Janet Daugherty and husband Bill of Pinckneyville, IL; brother in law, Herbert Martin of Avon, NY; Richie also had an extremely close and important relationship with Tyson and Ashley Mele, Mark and Amy Cantor of Chesterfield and their children, Eric and Samantha and Zachary; many, many wonderful nieces, nephews and close family friends, all of whom will feel his absence for many years to come.

The family of Richie King will host a Celebration of his Life on Friday, May 17, 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. They will then Celebrate his Life with a service beginning at 12 P.M. also at the funeral home. We will conclude with full military honors. Memorial donations made in honor of Richie King are suggested to be given to No Time to Spare Animal Shelter or to the Salvation Army c/o Martin Funeral Home.
