Truesdale became the second Warren County city to authorize an election for April 2, 2024 during its Nov. 8 board of aldermen meeting.
Aldermen approved the resolution by a vote of 4-0.
Three aldermen positions and the mayor are up for election next year.
The positions currently occupied by Truesdale Mayor Jerry Cannon and Alderman Justin Naranjo will be up again in 2025. They are on the ballot because both were appointed to fill positions. Cannon was appointed in June to fill the position vacated by former Mayor Chris Watson. Naranjo was appointed in July to fill Cannon’s position when Cannon was named mayor.
The positions currently occupied by Aldermen Joseph Brooks and Mike Thomas are for full two-year terms.
Applications for those interested in running can be picked up from Truesdale City Hall, 109 Pinckney Street, beginning Dec. 5. Applications must be returned by the close of business on Dec. 26.
Wright City has also approved having an election in April. That resolution passed its board of aldermen during their Oct. 26 meeting.
