Steven Joshua Kohler, of Warrenton, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born on November 28, 1985, in St. Louis to the late Anthony Kohler and Denise Marie Chisholm. He had reached the age of 40 years.
Steve was united in marriage to Mandy Kohler (nee: Coovert) on September 12, 2012. To this union, 4 children were born: Ben, Theo, Emma, and Phin. Steve’s four children were his greatest joy. He loved spending time with them, whether enjoying the outdoors while hunting and fishing or taking them to baseball games. Holidays were especially meaningful to him, and Christmas was his favorite. In his downtime, he could often be found tinkering in his shop, where there was always a project underway. Above all, Steve loved Jesus and was intentional about showing Christ’s love to every person he encountered, usually loudly and with unbridled enthusiasm.
Steve began his ministry shepherding others as a Youth Pastor at FCFC in Warrenton. He later became the Pastor at Creekside Place Church, where he served faithfully for nearly two decades. He had a deep desire to see lives changed and hearts truly transformed through Jesus, whether preaching from the pulpit on a Sunday morning or connecting with people while working as a police officer. Steve was always there whenever someone called. He had a great sense of humor, which he often used to comfort others during difficult times, illustrate his sermons, or simply bring joy to everyday moments. He had a way of bringing a smile and laughter when it was needed most. Those who remain grateful for having shared in Steve’s life include his beloved wife, Mandy Kohler; his loving children, Ben, Theo, Emma, and Phin Kohler; his dear brother, Richy (Hannah) Kohler; his mother, Denise Chisholm; along with many other relatives and countless friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Anthony Richard Kohler; his step-mother, Diane Kauer; his grandparents, Ed and June Chisholm; and his life-long friend, Randy McLeod.
Steve’s memory will be treasured by those who knew him and by all whose lives were enriched by kindness, selflessness, love, and prayerful intercession. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy lives on in the many hearts he touched and the family he held so dear.
A visitation for Steve will be held from 12 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, with a 3:33 p.m. Funeral Service to immediately follow, at Creekside Place Church in Warrenton. A burial with full Military Honors will be held in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, February 20.
