Mr. Steven Edward Wilds, age 54 of Fulton, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at his home on Tuesday, May 9. He was born on June 27, 1968, in Florissant.

On November 11, 2000, Steve married Jeanenne Kay (Buxton) Kinney in Warrenton and they spent the next 22 years building a wonderful life together.

Steve loved spending time with his wife, Jeanenne, and caring for her was his greatest joy. He was a devoted husband, and this union brought him three stepchildren, Valarie, Tim, and Holly, who he loved like they were his own. He enjoyed spoiling his grandkids with sweets for breakfast and “walking around money.” He worked at FedEx Freight for more than 23 years, befriending seemingly everyone he encountered. Steve was loved by neighbors, always lending a hand when he saw a need, from fixing a leaky garden hose to cleaning others’ driveways. He was fond of all his pets, especially his dog Angel, whom he rescued off the highway and doted on for 17 years. He loved other animals too, volunteering at the animal shelter in Warrenton, and filling his pockets with treats to share with all the pups along Angel’s walking route. He was a kind and generous man, giving his love and support to anyone who needed it.

Steve Wilds is preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence "Pop" and Barbara "Mom" Wilds; his father, Butch; his mother, Sheryln; his in-laws, Russell, Lovell, and Pearl Buxton. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Jeanenne; three stepchildren, Valarie Johnson and husband Jeff, Tim Kinney and wife Beth, Holly Kinney, and husband Dusty Schlobohm; 8 grandchildren, Will, Carson, Jake, Julianne, Adelyn, Karina, Erik, and Alfred; stepmother, Marilyn Wilds; brother, Tom Wilds and his wife Genni Sasnett; half-sister, Nicole Noel and her family; brother and sister-in-laws Janet Butcher and husband Jeff, Rita Mackenberg and husband Tim, Gail Wesley and husband John, Gary Buxton, and wife Glenda; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
