Shirley Louise Jakul (nee Taschler) passed away on December 19, 2020, at the age of 88. Shirley was born March 10, 1932, in St. Louis, MO to Fred and Lottie Taschler (nee McMillon).
Shirley and her husband, John Jakul celebrated 66 years of marriage before John's passing in 2017. A caring person, Shirley was a CNA who greatly enjoyed gardening, flowers, sewing, and quilting. Above all, she adored her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her children Linda (Gerard) Carroll of Charlotte, NC, John (Leslee) Jakul of Creve Coeur, MO, Mark (Sara) Jakul of Warrenton, MO, Michael (Averil) Jakul of St. Louis, MO, Dan Jakul of Warrenton, MO, Michelle Whitaker of Wright City, MO. and a brother, Stephen Taschler of KY.
Shirley had 14 grandchildren, a greater number of great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, John Jakul, sister, Barbara Quante, father, Fred Taschler, mother, Lottie Taschler, and brother, Fred Taschler, Jr. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be on Saturday, December 26, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. followed by the memorial service at 10:00 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Hwy 47 Warrenton, MO. Interment will follow the funeral service at Holy Rosary Cemetery, Warrenton.
