School board, city seats on county ballots

Warren County residents have much to consider when they make their way to their voting places April 4 for the municipal election.Several seats are up for election, and many incumbents are being challenged by newcomers.Polling place ballots for each precinct are available on the Warren County website.Here is election information Warren County residents will be considering. MunicipalitiesIn Foristell, the three candidates on the ballot are all running without a challenger. Joseph Goatly is mayor. Scott May is alderman for Ward 1 and Shari Dixon is alderman for Ward 2.In the Village of Innsbrook, three incumbents, Jeff Thomsen, Jerry Rust and Trish Dunn, filed for re-election and all are running unopposed.In Marthasville, the mayor’s seat, one East Ward seat and one West Ward seat are up for election. Two incumbents, Mayor David Lange and East Ward Alderman Dan Grafrath, had no challenges and will keep their seats.Newcomers Leo Meyer and Keith Hagedorn will challenge each other for West Ward alderman. Meyer and Hagedorn did not provide profiles to be published.In Pendleton, three seats are open and on the ballot but just two people filed their candidacy. They are Chris A. Pottebaum Sr. and Alfred Kilpatrick.In Truesdale, the mayor’s seat and two at-large board of aldermen seats were up for election. Incumbent Mayor Murray A. Bruer filed for re-election and is unopposed on the ballot. Incumbent Alderman Stanley D. Brookshier and newcomer Robert Green filed for the board seats.After candidacy filing closed, sitting Alderman Donald McGee resigned. Bruer appointed Green to his seat and is already serving. Brookshier will keep his seat.In Warrenton, the offices of mayor and one alderman from each of the city’s three wards were up for election. Each is a two-year term. Incumbent Mayor Eric Schleuter filed for re-election. Alderman Mike Shilharvey, Ward 1, also filed for mayor.Running for alderman in Ward 1 are Kenneth Jaseckas, incumbent Karen Casserly and Wayne Smith. Casserly and Smith did not provide profiles to the Warren County Record. Gary Auch is unopposed in Ward 2 and will keep his seat. In Ward 3, newcomer Gary Miller will run against incumbent Bob DeLaloye. DeLaloye did not provide a profile.Incumbent Wright City Alderman Dan Rowden, Ward 1, refiled and is unopposed. In Ward 2, incumbent Jim Toothman, Ward 2, is challenged by newcomer Nathan Rohr. Rohr did not provide a profile for publication.Amanda Werremeyer and Nathan Essary’s names will appear on the ballot for Ward 2 aldermen contenders but they have chosen not to serve.These city government seats are two-year terms.School Districts Six people are running for three seats on the Board of Education for the Warren County R-III School District. They are incumbent Laurie Wenzel and newcomers John Cornell, Franci Schwartz, Rodger Tucker Jr., Cary Tonioli and Tony Tiller.The Board of Education for the Wright City R-II School District also has three seats up for election. Voters will need to decide among incumbents Alice Jensen and Heidi Box and newcomers Thomas Matthew Uhl and Michael Bates.There are six candidates seeking three seats in the Washington School District. The candidates are Scott Byrne, Susan Thatcher, Shannon Hoch, Robert Oreskovic, Brent Moreland and Tracie Welsh.These school board positions are three-year terms. Public Safety The Marthasville Community Ambulance District retained two incumbents. Alice Kluesner will continue serving Subdistrict 4. Larry Brewe will continue serving Subdistrict 1.The Board of Directors for Marthasville Volunteer Fire Protection District did not have any seats up for election.Warren County Ambulance District retained two incumbents on its board of directors. Phil Tallo will continue serving Subdistrict 1 and Jonathan Laubert will continue serving Subdistrict 4.Warrenton Fire Protection District has two newcomers challenging each other for one seat on the district’s board of directors. They are Nicole Priest and Aaron Sutton.The board of directors for the Wright City Fire Protection District did not have any seats up for election.Election
