Sandra "Sandy" Elaine Pryor passed away on June 7, at the age of 83. Sandy was born February 12, 1941 in St. Louis, to Chester and Imogene Berendes. Her father passed away at a young age, her mother Imogene remarried and Sandy was raised by Leonard and Imogene Hertz.
Sandy was married to Dan Hite and to that union 3 children were born. Sandy married Ray Pryor on January 5, 1964 in St. Charles, and they celebrated 45 years of marriage before his passing in 2009. Her faith and passion were her family and friends. She loved to help others and see others grow in there walk with the Lord. Sandy loved helping out at church with the information desk and funeral arrangements. She knew no stranger, and she loved talking about her grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her three children Gene (Nicole) Hite, Mike (Kim) Hite, and Donna (Grant) Porteous; two brothers, Richard Hertz, Robyn Hertz; 10 grandchildren, Lora Hite, Victoria Porteous, Heather (Dustyn) Miller, Mellissa (Barrett) Brooks, Mandy Pryor, Angela Nicole (Edward) Crissen, Connor (Amanda) Porteous, Cameron Porteous, David (Jeanny) Hite, Ray (Rhonda) Davis and 17 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her birth father, Chester Berendes, father Leonard Hertz, mother, Lilyth Imogene Hertz, husband, William "Ray" Pryor, sister, Sharon Bray. Sandy's faith in Lord was strong and we know that she is walking in paradise with her beloved family that have gone before her, and will truly be missed by those who she leaves behind.
A visitation will be held Friday June 14 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Faith Christian Family Church in Warrenton. The funeral will follow at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Faith Christian Family Church for missions in care of Pitman Funeral Home .
