The Wright City R-II School District announced the hire of their next superintendent.
Wright City alumna Dr. Amy Salvo was selected to serve as the district’s next superintendent. She will begin her duties July 1. Salvo will succeed Dr. Chris Berger, who will retire effective June 30 after serving the district for four years.
“I am humbled and honored to join the Wright City R-II School District,” Salvo said through the district’s press release. “I look forward to building relationships and working alongside the talented students, dedicated teachers and staff, administration and parents, Board of Education and the community at large.”
Salvo’s career in education spans 21 years. Salvo currently serves as the deputy superintendent for the Francis Howell School District, In this role, she collaborated with law enforcement to review and update district safety and security procedures. She also served as chair on the board appointed policy committee.
She previously served as the Director of Social Emotional Learning and Supports for the Lincoln County R-III School district. She also brings previous experience as a principal at Troy Middle School and New Horizons High School.
“Dr. Amy Salvo’s commitment aligns seamlessly with a steadfast focus on elevating student achievement and our ongoing master plan for the district, encompassing crucial milestones such as the completion of the new high school, comprehensive improvement initiatives and sustainable growth,” Wright City R-II Board President Austin Jones said through a press release.
