Mr. Russell C Schroer, of Warrenton, passed away early on Monday, January 27, at his home. He was born on December 14, 1932 in Lincoln County, to Julius G and Verna H (nee: Pollien) Schroer. Russell had reached the age of 92 years.
Russell proudly served our country during the Korean War with the United States Army from 1951-1952. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he was united in marriage to Alva Pauline Munford on August 10, 1957 in Warrenton. They celebrated 67 years together. this union was blessed with two daughters, Janet and June. He drove a cement truck for many years plus worked in manufacturing for 22 years. Russell was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed watching all the games he could. He also enjoyed being outdoors fox hunting and fishing. Russell was a family man and he loved spending time with his family and friends, but was especially fond of sharing time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Russell Schroer was preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Verna; three brothers, Carl Schroer, Delbert Schroer and Wayne Schroer. He is survived by his wife, Pauline; daughters, Janet Jenkins and partner John and June Caryle and husband Jerry; two grandchildren, Brian Carlyle and wife Shana and Darren Carlyle and wife Sara; 6 great grandchildren, Russell, Lewis, Tucker, Sadie, Ellie and Ben; three nephews, Jeff Schroer (Tracy), Scott Schroer (Lisa), Mike Garvert (Lori); niece, Brenda Ebert; sister in law, Ruth Twiehaus; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 5, from 4 P.M. - 6 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. A Celebration of Life service will also be held on Wednesday, February 5, beginning at 6 P.M. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital c/o Martin Funeral Home.
