Rodney "Rod" Allen Willerton

Mr. Rodney "Rod" Allen Willerton of Warrenton, passed away Wednesday, October 11. He was born September 26, 1942, in St. Louis, to the late Richard and Annabel (nee: Crouch) Willerton. Rodney had reached the age of 81 years. 

Rod was united in marriage to Sue Ann Willerton (nee: Doskocil) in St. Charles, on August 25, 1985, and spent 38 years together. Together they shared five children, Shelly, Angel, Richard IV, Michael, and the late Richard (Buck).  Rod loved his church family and was a member of FCFC in Warrenton where he served as an usher for many years. He loved history and researching family genealogy and enjoyed watching T.V., especially the news. He also loved the outdoors, where he would spend time gardening and riding his tractor with his grandchildren. Spending time with his family and grandchildren is what meant the most to him. 

Those that are grateful for having shared in Rod's life are his beloved wife, Sue Ann; his loving children, Shelly Jones, Angel (Dave) DeHart, Richard (Susan) Willerton, and Michael Willerton; his cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his dear brother, Bruce (Marilyn) Willerton; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Rod was preceded in death by his biological parents, Richard and Annabel Willerton, his adopted mother, Velma Lee Willerton, his son, Richard Parr Hampton, and his twin brother, Richard Ambrose Willerton III. He was a devoted Christian, loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.  

A visitation for Rod will be held from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, with a 10:00 a.m. Celebration of Life Service to be held on Tuesday, October 17, at Martin Funeral Home, in Warrenton. A 12:30 p.m. committal service will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with full Military Honors. Memorial donations are appreciated to the Marine Corp League Local 1393 c/o Martin Funeral Home.
